Physical exercise helps maintain and improve your health in many ways.  It also gives you a feeling of accomplishment and wellbeing.  An active lifestyle has been shown to make people live longer and with a better quality of life.

Your workout should have a combination of cardiovascular and weight training exercises. This helps you to burn calories and increase muscle mass, which will in turn, increase metabolism and help maintain a healthy weight.

Start off slow and gradually increase the level of activity as your endurance and fitness levels increase.

Things you can do to stay fit and healthy – both inside and out:

  • Keep your brain sharp by reading or working puzzles.
  • Reduce stress by taking time out every day to do something you really enjoy.  This can be anything from gardening, cooking, shopping or just relaxing with your favorite television show.
  • Always start your day with a positive outlook on life.  A smile goes a long way in brightening your world and those around you!
